Your changing body
Now at week 9, you may notice a slight bulge in your lower abdomen and a thickening in the waistline, though you may still not look pregnant. Heartburn and Constipation along with morning sickness, which are typical signs of pregnancy, can make you uncomfortable. Your breasts also become bigger and sensitive.

You might start to feel even more tired and bloated than you have in weeks past. By pregnancy at 9 weeks you have probably noticed some mood swings or anxiety. Many women alternate between feeling elated and feeling anxious or down.

At week 10, your pregnancy enters into more stable state and there is a smaller amount of shift in the Hormone levels. There is an increase in your blood volume so that you will particularly notice the veins in your stomach, legs and breasts. Your Uterus also continues to grow. Before pregnancy, your Uterus was the size of a small pear. By week 10, it will be big as an orange. There is substantial growth in the Placenta both in size and functioning. The typical Morning sickness generally eases up a little bit around the 10th week.

Your growing baby
Week 9 marks the end of the embryonic period and your baby starts looking more and more like a human. Your little baby is now approximately 2–3 cm in length (size of a grape) and weighs around 1.5–2 g (the weight of a paper clip). All the baby's joints such as the knees, elbows, shoulders, ankles and wrists are working and allowing the baby to move about freely within the amniotic sac. Your baby's heart has divided into four chambers and the valves are beginning to develop. The eyes are fully formed and your baby has tiny earlobes and the mouth, nose and nostrils are more distinct.

Week 10 marks the beginning of the fetal period where your baby’s organs continue to grow, function and mature. Your baby is now around 3–3.5 cm long, weighs about 4 g and is as big as a lime. The baby's growth is now increasing at a more rapid pace.

Things to consider
Hormonal changes that occur during pregnancy can affect your gums and thus they become swollen and inflamed. This condition is called as pregnancy Gingivitis. Usually this condition appears in between 3rd and 9th month of your pregnancy. If you experience the symptoms of pregnancy gingivitis, be sure to visit your dentist. The best way to prevent pregnancy Gingivitis is to practice good oral hygiene.
Please do not start dieting during pregnancy. It is very essential that you eat wisely and healthy. Make sure you drink enough fluids.

Dehydration is a common pregnancy problem as most often the increased need for fluids is not met.

Making pregnancy better
Pregnancy does play a havoc on your hormones that leads to frequent mood swings. Try to relax when possible and keep a positive outlook. Going for walks and meditations will also help to relax.
