Your changing body
Your Uterus increases in size and has become almost double the size. The frequency of urination is more due to pressure of the growing Uterus and your increasing blood volume.

An appointment with a good obstetrician is carried out during this time where you can confirm your pregnancy. At your first visit, you may be undergoing several tests (baseline weight and blood pressure, pelvic exam, blood test, etc.) to ensure you and your baby’s health.
Increasing levels of hormones can cause your breast to increase in size and other tissue changes, all in preparation for Lactation. This increase can also cause nausea and vomiting with smells you once loved. If you find yourself craving for a particular food or crying for no reason, blame it on the hormones.

You may feel more and more exhausted and find yourself wanting to sleep. This is due to the little one’s fast development inside your body.

At the moment the thing you want most is sleep.

Your growing baby
Your baby is approximately 11 mm long by the end of week 7 and weighs less than an aspirin. At this point, every essential organ in your baby’s body has begun to form. The hair and nipple follicles are forming, and the eyelids and tongue have started to develop. The elbows and toes are more visible as the trunk begins to straighten out.

By the end of week 8, your baby will be about 15–18 mm in length, weighs 1 g and is the size of a kidney bean. Your baby’s brain and reproductive system starts developing. The process of ossification (hardening of the bones) begins as the bones of the fingers and toes have already reached the first joint.

Your baby starts showing signs of reflex activity. Yes, your baby starts moving spontaneously. Umbilical cord also starts to function. An Ultrasound done this week would show your baby’s fluttering heart and reflex movements.

Things to consider
Once your pregnancy is confirmed, there are some things you will want to keep in mind. It is of prime importance that you select a good obstetrician. Do not reduce your fluid intake. You should decrease your caffeine : A drug that stimulates the central nervous system . This is found naturally in coffee, tea, and chocolate .', WIDTH, 450, TITLE, 'Glossary', '', true, FADEIN, 300, FADEOUT, 300, STICKY, 1, OFFSETX, -20, CLOSEBTN, true, CLICKCLOSE, true)" href=# >caffeine intake, increase your calcium intake, and rest when you can.

If you observe spotting of blood, be sure to call your obstetrician.

To make your Morning sickness better:
Eating small meals often can help you overcome nausea. As Morning sickness is often worse on an empty stomach, try keeping some crackers or salted biscuits close by the bed and snack on some before you get up in the morning. Sipping some ginger tea or lemon water also helps relieve nausea.
