Towards the end of pregnancy, you may be feeling quite huge and uncomfortable. Meanwhile you may begin to have some swelling in your feet and chances are that you are leaking Colostrum also. But relax—it won’t be long now before you hold your little one in your arms. In the weekly visits, your doctor will continue to check your blood pressure, protein or sugar in urine, baby’s heartbeat and position, and will also monitor any weight gain or loss in you.
Your growing baby Congratulations! Now your baby will be considered full term, even though there are 3 weeks to go. Your baby may have a good amount of hair on his/her head during week 37. Now your baby weighs around 2.7–2.9 kg and measures approximately 50 cm from head to toe. By week 38, your baby is continuing to grow and weighs around 3 kg. Except for brain and lungs, your baby’s organs are fully developed and functioning. These organs will start functioning once your baby comes out from your Uterus but full maturity will reach during childhood. Now you may get an idea about the color of your baby’s eye especially if she/he has brown eyes.
Things to consider If your baby is not in the head down position yet, there may be a possibility of a Breech birth. Breech position is when your baby is bottom-down position in your Uterus.
